Oasis Is In Lowest Second Place For Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Fan Voting 2025

Fan voting for the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (Rock Hall) will be completed in less than a week, which will continue with the voting of an international panel consisting of 1,200 musicians, industry professionals, and historians.

From VOI's monitoring on the official Rock Hall website on Thursday, April 17 at 15.00 WIB, it was recorded that 2.360.337 fans had voted for those nominated.

Which makes it interesting, Oasis, who this summer will embark on a reunion tour around the world, is in 13th position, which means the bottom two out of 14 nominations.

The band, which consists of Nial and Liam Gallagher, only got 92,504 votes.

Oasis' achievement is far from the seventh position of Chubby Checker who received 185,801 votes as a minimum limit for those who will be induced by Rock Hall this year.

Other big names are also still outside the top seven, such as Mariah Carey in 9th place with 130,288 votes and the Joy Division + New Order in 10th place with 110,538 votes.

Meanwhile, the top position was occupied by Phish with 312,515 votes, followed by Bad Company with 257,233 votes, Billy Idol with 239,374 votes, and Cyndi Lauper with 217,118 votes.

However, fan voting is not the end of Rock Hall. The top five positions will receive one vote each, which will later be combined with the votes of 1,200 Rock Hall panels.

For information, Phish, who is at the top of fan voting, was nominated for his first Rock Hall this year, since being deemed eligible in 2014.

"It is an honor and joy, a recognition of our entire community," said Trey Anastasio (vocal) during an interview with GQ earlier this year.

"That's the first thing we talked about that this is a celebration of this community."

And if the band is successfully induced into Rock Hall, Anastasio has thought of at least one person to pay tribute at their inauguration.

"I would be honored if Ezra (Koenig, of Vampire Weekend) wanted to do it," he said. "He is very good at talking and intelligent, comes from New York and a good guy, and I think he understands. It would be better if someone who is not a newly assigned star, someone who doesn't understand Phish, could do it."
