JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, asked regional heads to intensify the socialization of the implementation of Emergency Restrictions Community Activity (PPKM).

The Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, assessed that socialization by cooperating with community organizations or community leaders such as in East Java, can be used as a pilot model and replicated in other areas.

"Persuasive efforts, socialization as conveyed by the East Java Police Chief, both with NU, Muhammadiyah, and others, may be replicated for regencies and cities to do the same with community leaders", Tito said in his statement in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday, 8 July.

Minister Tito also emphasized the importance of the presence of regional heads to be willing to go to the field to check the progress of the emergency PPKM.

According to him, it is important to do this as an effort to directly identify the mobility of people in various sectors.

"All regional heads are all down, this is what the president ordered at the meeting (limited meeting), (ie) the presence of regional heads in the field", said Tito Karnavian.

In addition to giving messages about the cohesiveness of regional heads with Forkopimda in implementing emergency PPKM, he also asked regional heads to immediately realize social assistance sourced from their APBD (Regional Budget).

That way, Minister Tito hopes that people who need assistance will immediately get their rights through the distribution of social assistance as support for assistance from local governments.

Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs had also said that the key to the success of emergency PPKM lies in the synergy and collaboration between all parties.

The Central Government, together with the regional government and Forkopimda, until the community, must move together, one vision, to jointly break the chain of the spread of COVID-19.
