Health Workers Exposed To COVID-19, 7 Health Centers In Cianjur Stop Services

CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency COVID-19 Task Force, West Java, noted that 7 puskesmas in the area were forced to stop all activities and services in the past month. The reason is because most of the medical personnel have been exposed to the corona virus and are self-isolating.

"In the past month, there have been 7 puskesmas that stopped all their activities because their medical personnel and employees were positive for COVID-19, but this week, 4 of them have returned to normal operations," said Cianjur District COVID-19 Information and Coordination Center Spokesperson, Dr Yusman Faisal. quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 1.

He explained that the other three health centers, namely Cilaku, Ciranjang and Sukaluyu Health Center, were still not operating because dozens of medical personnel, employees and their families were still in self-isolation in special homes and villas.

Most of them have only been isolated for a few days, under the supervision of the sub-district task force and medical personnel from the nearest puskesmas, while those undergoing isolation at Vila Ciherang and BLPP Cimacan receive supervision from the task force and medical personnel at the Cimacan Hospital.

Until the beginning of the month, he said, the transmission rate of COVID-19 was still quite high, so isolation rooms had to be added in a number of places so that patients with severe symptoms could undergo maximum isolation.

"The condition of those undergoing isolation has begun to gradually improve. Until now, there are 1,140 positive COVID-19 patients who are still undergoing isolation, ranging from independent, hospitals and special places," he said.

Yusman added, during the pandemic until now, the number of positive COVID-19 patients reached 7,606 people and 6,111 recovered patients, while 185 people died.

Regarding the fullness of the centralized isolation rooms, although dozens of rooms have been added, his party appealed to residents who were exposed to COVID-19 with mild and moderate symptoms, to be able to live independently or in isolation rooms in their respective villages.

"Services remain the same as those provided in isolation in hospitals and special villas, so that those who are exposed without symptoms can undergo isolation in village isolation rooms so that room difficulties can be overcome," said Yusman.
