Riau Gets Sacrificial Cow Aid From President Jokowi

PEKANBARU - The Riau Provincial Government has again received donations of sacrificial cows from President Joko Widodo to welcome Eid al-Adha 1442 H/2021.

"As in 2020, the Riau Provincial Government in 2021 will also receive assistance for sacrificial cows from President Jokowi", said Head of the Riau Animal Husbandry and Health Service, Rahmat Setiyawan, in Pekanbaru, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 30.

Rahmat said that currently, his party is exploring the sacrificial cows in the field to select suitable cows to be sacrificed by the President. From the survey results, his party has only found three candidate cows that match the criteria for the President's sacrificial cattle for Riau.

The program for the procurement of sacrificial cattle, he said, was a program from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, but for the process of searching for cattle, it was still submitted to Marine and Fisheries Ministry Riau.

"Regarding the implementation of the process of slaughtering sacrificial animals assisted by President Jokowi, it will be the responsibility of the Riau Regional Secretariat Bureau, while it only looks for cattle to farmers in this area", he said.

The previous year, President Jokowi assisted with one sacrificial cow with a weight of 820 kilograms given by the president.
