Strict Warning From Jokowi: Whatever The Concept Of Handling The COVID-19 Pandemic Is, The Most Important Thing Is The Implementation!

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had begun to remind his ministers not to continue to explain the concept of overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, this warning has been conveyed by President Jokowi loudly at every limited meeting of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet (Kabinet Indonesia Maju). Muhadjir said that the former governor of DKI Jakarta asked for a field settlement so that the transmission of this virus could be prevented and minimized.

"The President is now a bit harsh in giving directions, warning that what really matters is whatever concept we will use to solve COVID-19 is, the most important thing is the implementation", said Muhadjir when opening the National Coordination Meeting for the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) online, Wednesday, June 30.

"If the meeting be repeated many times, calculating the numbers, but if we don't act in the field, we don't move as we should, this problem will not be solved", added the former Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud).

Thus, at every limited meeting related to COVID-19, Muhadjir said Jokowi always asked about the implementation of activities in the field. One of them is related to the provision of vaccination which is being accelerated on a large scale.

"So let's end with various scenarios. Because those scenarios will not actually work as usual if they are not implemented in the field", he said.

Furthermore, Muhadjir said President Jokowi continues to pay attention to the spread of COVID-19 among pregnant women, infants, and children. That way, efforts to suppress cases of the spread of the virus can be done intensely.

Moreover, so far, COVID-19 has aggressively attacked vulnerable groups, especially pregnant women and children.

"I think we all have an agreement that we must end this COVID-19 pandemic somehow as soon as possible. But also basic health services should not be completely ignored", he said.
