South Kalimantan People Can Smile In The Midst Of A Pandemic, 10 Thousand Food Packages Distributed

JAKARTA - The people of South Kalimantan can smile. This follows the South Kalimantan Regional Police and the Regional Police in the ranks of distributing 10,000 food packages to help communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Today, we simultaneously carry out social services in the framework of the 75th Bhayangkara Day which is commemorated on July 1 by distributing necessities to the community", said Deputy Chief of the South Kalimantan Police Brigadier, General Mohamad Agung Budijono, in Banjarmasin, reported by Antara, Friday, June 25.

According to him, basic needs are a primary need that must be met by everyone. For this reason, the Police are here to help the underprivileged to fulfill it.

"Hopefully it can ease the burden on people who are currently struggling with being affected by COVID-19", said Agung representing the South Kalimantan Police Chief, Inspector General Rikwanto.

On the other hand, the social services carried out are a form of gratitude for the Police, so that during the 75 years of service they have been in maintaining public security and order.

For this reason, the Deputy Chief of Police continued, the National Police is committed to continuing to provide the best service for the community, nation, and state, including during the difficult time of the pandemic so that Indonesia can rise through mutual efforts to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Traffic Director of the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Maesa Soegriwo, added that basic food packages were delivered directly from house to house so that there were no crowds.

The targets are poor people, orphanages, nursing homes, employees who have been laid off, rickshaw drivers, motorcycle taxis and drivers, people with disabilities, retired military and police officers, and medical personnel.

"In addition to the 1,500 special basic food packages at the Polda, we also distributed 15,000 masks as a form of education on health protocols so that the public remains disciplined and not careless," said the Traffic Director, accompanied by the Head of Sub-Directorate for Regident, AKBP Muhammad Junaidi Joni.
