JAKARTA - The activity of celebrating the 494th anniversary of DKI Jakarta in North Jakarta must be carried out with strict COVID-19 health protocols (prokes). Given the high number of COVID-19 cases.

"It doesn't mean we cancel activities, but we have to stay in line with the COVID-19 process", said North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim after attending a series of ceremonies to commemorate the 494th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta which was held by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government virtually, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, June 22.

Like the virtual Jakarta Anniversary commemoration ceremony, according to Ali, this is an anticipatory step taken to prevent the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

He said that Jakarta had been facing the COVID-19 pandemic for two years.

However, various efforts to end the transmission are still being carried out by the government, so that various community activities can run normally again.

Moreover, currently, isolation and supervision are being carried out at a number of points and areas, such as Jalan Boulevard Kelapa Gading and Pantai Indah Kapuk, Penjaringan.

In connection with the theme of this year's DKI Jakarta Anniversary celebration, namely 'Jakarta Bangkit' (Jakarta Rise) which has a philosophy and hope that Jakarta can rise from the wave of the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the health, economic and other sector crises.

According to Ali, this is the momentum for the citizens of the capital to rise again, to face the COVID-19 pandemic together.

"Let's make Jakarta rise, activities can still run, but remember that we must comply with the process and the implementation of restrictions on micro-based community activities (PPKM)", said the mayor.
