JAKARTA - The Head of the Expert Team and Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, has tested positive for COVID-19. Wiku was confirmed to be exposed based on the results of the antigen swab on Friday, June 18.

"I then did a PCR swab and the results I received today were positive for COVID-19", said Wiku in his statement, Saturday, June 19.

Based on tracing, Wiku has a travel history to various regions. Because for the last two weeks he has been busy with various state tasks.

"In the last few weeks, I made a working visit to several areas that experienced a high spike in COVID-19 cases, such as Kudus and Bangkalan", said Wiku.

"I take official trips to various regions by disciplined complying with health protocols. There is a possibility that I will be exposed to these activities when my immune system decreases due to fatigue", he continued

Despite being exposed to COVID-19, Wiku said his condition was still good. However, he asked those who had close contact with him to carry out an antigen test as an effort to test and also trace.

"I also ask the public to strictly adhere to 3M's health protocols, namely wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining distance", he said.

Wiku reminded that anyone can be infected with COVID-19 and only by being disciplined in carrying out health protocols can we prevent ourselves from transmitting COVID-19.

May we all always be given health and protection from the COVID-19 pandemic", concluded Wiku.
