PDIP Reminds Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, Economic Recovery Is A Priority

MEDAN - The Medan City DPRD, North Sumatra reminded all regional government organizations (OPD) of the Medan City Government to immediately restore the economy by making development program priorities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Economic recovery is a priority, especially in supporting development in the city of Medan today," said Medan City DPRD chairman Hasyim in Medan, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 17.

He said this in response to the Medan City Mid-Term Development Plan Deliberation (RPJMD) 2021-2026 on Development Plans (Musrenbang), which was opened by Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, Wednesday, June 16.

The implementation of the two-day RPJMD Musrenbang, said the PDIP politician, must be able to revive the economy, especially the city of Medan which is being sluggish due to COVID-19.

Data from the North Sumatra Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in early March stated that the number of poor people in North Sumatra, including the contribution from the City of Medan, increased by 96,220 or to 1,356,720 people in September 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19.

"The ones most affected are MSME actors (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). We hope that MSME actors in Medan City will get a place and facilities so that they can get back up again," said Hasyim, who is also the Chairman of the Medan City PDIP DPC.
