Anies Is Proud To See The Roof Of The Jakarta International Stadium Can Be Opened And Closed

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inspects the topping off of the roof truss of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in Papanggo, North Jakarta. Through his remarks, Anies expressed his pride in seeing the concept of building this magnificent stadium.

Anies said that the roof on JIS uses a retractable roof system, so it can be used in any weather conditions.

"This can be used for matches even during the day because it allows for the roof to be closed. Then this makes the utilization of the stadium more optimal because it can be used all the time, throughout the year, without being disturbed by weather and operating hours. So this is a breakthrough that is arguably the first in Indonesia, where there is a stadium with a closed roof that can be opened and closed", said Anies at the location, Wednesday, June 16.

The process of topping off the JIS roof truss, said Anies, is very complex, requiring very high competence and precision, extraordinary diligence, and seriousness in preparation.

This must be prepared so that the load of the roof truss which weighs 3,900 tons and has a length of 270 meters can be lifted from a height of 70 meters. There are nearly 1,000 people involved in this construction.

"We can all be proud of our engineers who prepared this program, this project, very well. Likewise with the workers in the field who work day and night to ensure that the construction of JIS takes place on time, on budget, and with the right quality", said Anies.

Anies considers that the JIS construction can prove to the international community that Indonesia is capable of carrying out complex construction. This is evidenced through the topping-off process, using Hydraulic Jack machines spread across 16 points in the JIS area.

"The process that simultaneously lifts (the roof truss) is the only one in Asia at this time with a very heavy load, only at the Jakarta International Stadium. However, if the construction is done at the top, it has been done a lot," said Anies.

For information, the JIS roof truss installation process with its completion is targeted to be completed on July 5, 2021. Then in December 2021, the first match will be scheduled at JIS when all construction is complete.
