The Anti-terror Detachment 88 Arrest A Terrorist In Bogor, Supplier Of Bomb Raw Materials To WhatsApp Group Admin

JAKARTA - The Anti-terror Detachment 88 arrested one suspected terrorist with the initials KDW in the Bogor area, West Java. From the provisional examination, the suspected terrorist acted as a provider of bomb-making chemicals in the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network.

"The role of the suspect KDW is to prepare chemicals that will be used as raw materials for making bombs", said Head of Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono to reporters, Tuesday, June 15.

During the arrest of a suspected terrorist on Monday, June 14, various chemicals were found. For example, dextran, magnesium sulfate, sodium borate, HCL to sulfur.

In addition, this suspected terrorist is also known to be actively spreading content with elements of terrorism on his social media accounts. He is also an admin in the Whatsapp Group (WAG) who often discusses jihad.

"This KDW is the admin of one of the WhatsApp Groups, of course, the Whatsapp Group consists of this KDW group, which is always discussing jihad and daulah", said Rusdi.

The National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 Team has continued to carry out terrorism prevention and countermeasures since January 2021, a number of suspected terrorists have been secured in a number of areas.

The arrests of suspected terrorists continued to be intensified after the suicide bombing at the Makassar Cathedral Church, South Sulawesi, on March 28, 2021.

Until April 2021, there were 99 suspected terrorists arrested with details in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB ) five terrorist suspects, Jakarta 12 terrorists, Makassar 55 terrorists, East Java five terrorists, West Java six terrorists, Central Java six terrorists, Bekasi one terrorist, and Yogyakarta nine terrorists.

Recently, the Police Anti-terror Detachment 88 Team arrested 11 suspected terrorists in Merauke, Papua, and one suspected terrorist in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. These 12 terrorist groups are members of Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) who pledged allegiance to ISIS.

In early January 2021, the National Police's Densus 88 Anti-terror Team first arrested 22 suspected terrorists in East Java. The group is known as the Fahim group affiliated with Al Qaeda.
