BOGOR - The Emergency Response Team (ERT) of PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) has begun to perfect the rescue techniques and team strategies ahead of the 2026 Indonesia Fire Rescue Competition (IFRC) which will be held at PT Freeport Indonesia, Timika, from October 22 to November 1, 2026.

Preparations were carried out through Technical Meetings and Workshops at the Indonesia Disaster Relief Training Ground (Ina DRTG) BNPB and the Peacekeeping Mission Center (PMPP) TNI, Sentul, Bogor, from July 27 to August 1, 2026.

NHM sent three representatives to the event, namely Hendrik Lesa as Manager of the IFRC Team, Zakaria Barham as an instructor, and Muhammad Ifan as team captain.

The Technical Meeting is a mandatory agenda for all participants before the competition. The committee discusses the race mechanism, techniques in each category, assessment system, safety standards, to administrative requirements.

The workshop focuses on technical skills. Participants learn rescue techniques, team coordination, the application of occupational safety standards, and emergency handling practices.

According to Hendrik, the material obtained will be used as a basis for formulating strategies and maximizing the preparation of the NHM ERT ahead of the competition.
