BANDUNG - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot), West Java, sealed the videotron installed in the Padel Six Nine area, Jalan Riau Bandung, as a follow-up to the investigation of the case of cutting down 10 trees without permits that occurred at the location.
Head of the Bandung City Police Pamong Praja Unit (Satpol PP) Bambang Sukardi said the sealing was carried out because the videotron had not obtained a permit to hold a billboard.
"Today we sealed the videotron because the permit has not been issued. This sealing is also a follow-up to the felling of 10 trees. This is a form of firmness from the Bandung City Government in enforcing regional regulations, while maintaining environmental sustainability," said Bambang as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 6.
He explained that the results of the Examination Report (BAP) showed that there was a link between the felling of trees and the installation of the videotron.
According to him, logging trees without permits violates the Bandung City Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 3 of 2026, especially Article 17 paragraph (1) letter J.
Based on the provisions, he continued, every tree that is cut down without a permit is obliged to replace 10 trees and an administrative fine of Rp. 10 million per tree.
"Thus, the violation of 10 trees is subject to the obligation to plant 100 replacement trees and an administrative fine of Rp. 100 million," he said.
He said the obligation to plant replacement trees and pay administrative fines had been met by the responsible parties.
From the results of the examination, he said, the logging perpetrator admitted that the action was carried out because the presence of trees was considered to obstruct the visibility of the videotron.
"The confession in the report states that the logging was carried out by the subcontractor who was working on the park's construction," he said.
He emphasized that sealing was only carried out on videotron which did not have a permit, while the operation of the padel field and business buildings was still allowed to run because all permits had been declared complete by technical agencies.
"The building and the padel business are not the main issue because the permit is complete. What we sealed was only the videotron which was not licensed and related to violations of tree felling," said Bambang Sukardi.
