MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution said the digitalization system is one of the efforts to close opportunities for corrupt practices in various sectors within the city government which are considered prone to corruption.

"This (corruption) could be a mental illness. If it can't be changed, it is very dangerous. We continue to try to close the slightest corruption hole. One of them is by implementing a digitalization system," Bobby Nasution said, as quoted by Antara, Friday, June 11.

Bobby Nasution is optimistic that by implementing the digitalization system, it will slowly eliminate the mental corruption of unscrupulous employees.

The application of digitization, he continued, would further accelerate public services and prevent leakage of local revenue (PAD), such as payment for vehicle parking.

"Although we have only implemented the digitization of parking payments on a few roads, the results have had a positive impact on increasing PAD. This system makes it easier for residents to get services," explained Bobby Nasution.

In addition, he continued, the Medan City Government has implemented a digitalization system in the procurement of goods and services so that OPD leaders do not need to meet directly with contractors.

"With the digitalization system, OPD does not need to meet project contractors. This closes the opportunity for corruption," Bobby said
