Two Jambret Perpetrators Were Hit by Residents After Stealing the Victim's Gold Necklace Returning from the Market

Two snatchers who dared to snatch a gold necklace belonging to a housewife in Taman Kosmos, Kedoya Utara, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, were successfully secured by residents. The snatching incident occurred when the victim was about to go home after shopping at the market.

Kebon Jeruk Police Chief Kompol Nur Aqsha said that when the victim was about to cross the road to go home, two perpetrators who were riding a motorcycle suddenly approached the victim.

"The victim was kidnapped by two people who boarded a motor vehicle. One of the perpetrators who was in the back immediately pulled the victim's gold necklace," said Kompol Nur Aqsha when confirmed, Friday, May 22, 2026.

After successfully seizing the victim's gold necklace weighing 4 grams, the two perpetrators with initials KWG and DA immediately tried to escape.

However, their actions were known to residents around who then carried out a pursuit.

In fact, residents deliberately crashed their vehicle into the perpetrator's motorcycle until the two fell and were successfully secured, before finally being handed over to the police.

Receiving a report from the victim, members of the Kebon Jeruk Police immediately moved quickly to secure the two perpetrators.

Both perpetrators were finally taken to Mapolsek Kebon Jeruk to undergo further examination.

"In this incident, the victim was confirmed not to have been injured," he said.

The police also managed to secure evidence in the form of a gold necklace from the crime.

For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 477 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the new Criminal Code regarding the crime of theft with a charge.
