DKI Looking For New COVID-19 Isolation Locations Around Settlements, Deputy Governor Riza Patria: People Will Understand

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has determined the number of new locations for the isolation of COVID-19 patients and accommodation for health workers.

The isolation beds and accommodation were prepared in hotels, guesthouses, and several locations around settlements such as flats, sports halls, mosques, and schools.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria believes that residents will understand that the location is safe from COVID-19 transmission to residents in the vicinity.

"The community will understand, understand, that we need good cooperation. The sports hall is wide, so it doesn't disturb the community. The fence is wide, you don't have to worry. Unless you put it in houses, in villages, then you can worry", said Riza at the DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, June 8 evening.

The important thing, said Riza, is that all parties can strictly implement health protocols. He hopes that residents can respect each other for the presence of COVID-19 patients who are isolated in their surroundings.

"We also support the central government's programs related to the national vaccination program which continues to increase every day. Hopefully, this will generate high confidence and also increase economic growth", he said.

For information, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has set several new isolation locations. This is stated in the Governor's Decree (Kepgub) No. 675 of 2021. The gubernatorial decree signed on May 31, 2021, revoked Governor's decree No. 979 of 2020 regarding controlled isolation locations for previous COVID-19 patients.

This was done because the central government stopped financing the isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients at hotels, inns, and guesthouses in Jakarta. Not only that, the cost of lodging for health workers who handle COVID-19 is also similar.

Previously, the cost of lodging and the needs of isolated patients and lodging for health workers were borne by the central government.

The following are the isolation locations prepared by the DKI Provincial Government:

Phase 1 (607 people capacity)
