JAKARTA - The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police has dismantled the practice of a clandestine lab for the manufacture of vape cartridges containing the narcotic of type II etomidate in the Tamansari area, West Jakarta.
"In the disclosure, one suspect was arrested with the initials S (38) at around 19.30 WIB," said Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Narcotics Division of the Metro Jaya Police, Kompol Indah Hartantiningrum in Jakarta, Sunday.
This disclosure began with community information regarding the alleged abuse of liquid narcotics at a boarding house located in Krukut Village, Tamansari District.
Following up on the information, the Ditresnarkoba of the Metro Jaya Police immediately conducted an investigation and raid at the location.
"During the search of the boarding house, a number of evidence was found in the form of 34 cartridges ready for distribution, 49 cartridges for refill, 550 empty packaging of various brands, one bottle of etomidate seed liquid, six mixed liquid bottles, as well as a number of production tools such as electric pots, vessels, insulin, measuring glasses, and pres tools," he said.
Furthermore, the alleged perpetrator and evidence have been brought to the Narcotics Division of the Metro Jaya Police for further examination.
Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, revealed that drug eradication was a shared responsibility.
"However small the information from the community, it is very useful for the police, starting from the nearest and surrounding environment so that we can all care," said Budi.
He also asked residents to immediately report potential disturbances of public security and order (kamtibmas) through the 110 National Police Call Center which is active 24 hours a day.
