JAKARTA - The General Chair of Cyber Indonesia, Muannas Alaidid, reported the preacher Haikal Hassan Baras to the police because of his tweet about the cancellation of the hajj.

In his tweet, Haikal Hassan suspected that the cancellation of the hajj this time had something to do with Indonesia's closeness to the PRC and injustice against Rizieq Shihab. Apart from that, there are several interesting facts related to Haikal Hassan's track record.

1. Haikal Hassan Career

Before being active as a preacher, Haikal actually worked as a salesman while teaching at a university. He then decided to continue his education at the Faculty of Philosophy of Mathematics at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and work as a human resources consultant, in a mining company.

Haikal Hassan started his career as a preacher in the 80s, namely as a Koran teacher in his hometown. Haikal is active in lecturing on religion with a distinctive Betawi dialect style and thick with jokes.

2. Participate in throwing Ahok into prison

The name Haikal Hassan is often associated with former Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader Rizieq Shihab. One of them is because his lecture style and intonation are similar to Rizieq Shihab. In addition, he also often has one event with HRS.

His name also soared after the 212 mass actions on December 2, 2016. At that time, Haikal together with hundreds of ulama and Islamic organizations formed a national coalition to guard the MUI fatwa on the case of blasphemy against the former Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok).
