4.2 Magnitude Earthquake Occurs In Lombok

Earthquake occurred in Lombok with a magnitude of 4.2 (Twitter BMKG)

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 occurred in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The earthquake was said to have been felt in a number of areas.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the Mataram earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 occurred at 20.00 WIB, Friday, June 4. The location is 8.35 South Latitude, 116.08 East Longitude. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea 8 km northwest of North Lombok.

BMKG said the depth of the Lombok earthquake was 19 km. It is felt on the MMI III scale in East Lombok, the MMI III scale in Central Lombok, the MMI III scale in West Lombok and the MMI III scale in Mataram.

According to BMKG, the earthquake was also felt on the MMI II scale in Karangasem. There have been no reports of the impact of the Lombok earthquake.
