TNI Personnel Killed, Foreign Minister Sugiono Condemns Israeli Attack in Lebanon

Tokyo, Japan - Foreign Minister (Menlu) Sugiono, representing the government, expressed deep condolences for the death of one TNI personnel who was on duty in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.

In addition, the Indonesian government also strongly condemned Israel's attack in South Lebanon which caused casualties.

This was conveyed by Foreign Minister Sugiono in Tokyo, Japan, while accompanying President Prabowo, Monday, March 30.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also conveyed that there were three other TNI soldiers who were injured due to the escalation between the Israeli military and Hezbollah which occurred on Sunday, March 29 at the UNIFIL headquarters in South Lebanon.

Three other soldiers were wounded, one soldier suffered serious injuries and is currently in a coma, while the other two suffered minor injuries.

Based on the report of the Head of the TNI Information Center, Major General Aulia Dwi Narsullah, one soldier who was seriously injured, namely Praka Rico Pramudia, and two soldiers with minor injuries, namely Praka Bayu Prakoso and Praka Arif Kurniawan, have received medical treatment.

The Indonesian government also expressed strong condemnation of Israel's attacks in the southern Lebanese region which have claimed lives, and again called for de-escalation of the conflict.

Currently, the Indonesian Government is still waiting for the results of the investigation from UNIFIL, which is investigating the parties responsible for the incident.
