Prabowo Holds Halalbihalal with Jokowi at the Palace, a Meaningful Gathering

Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto held a halalbihalal with the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo in a griya or open house event at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Saturday, March 21, in the context of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

Jokowi arrived at Istana Merdeka with his wife Iriana Joko Widodo and youngest son Kaesang Pangarep. His arrival was greeted by a guard of honor before being greeted directly by President Prabowo in the courtyard of the Palace, right at the point of stopping the vehicle.

The two then walked side by side down the blue carpet to the meeting room inside the Palace. A warm atmosphere was seen when Prabowo accompanied Jokowi and his family to visit and talk in private for some time.

In the official documentation released by the Presidential Secretariat, Jokowi and Iriana appeared wearing clothes with a similar shade of cream and light brown, while Prabowo appeared with a light blue top. At the banquet table, various typical Lebaran dishes were served such as nastar, pieces of cake, to the swaying flowers.

President Prabowo was also accompanied by his son, Didit Hediprasetyo, who wore clothes with a similar nuance to his father, complete with a black turban.

Apart from Jokowi, on a separate occasion on the same day, President Prabowo also received a visit from the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. SBY was accompanied by his two sons, namely the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian MPR, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono.

The Presidential Secretariat in its official statement said that the meeting of the former and active presidents reflected the continuity of national leadership which remained intertwined in a family atmosphere.

"This year's griya Idul Fitri title is a meeting room full of meaning to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, care for harmony between leaders, and strengthen the message that unity is the main foundation in the nation's journey to the future," the official statement said.

This momentum is an important symbol of national political stability, where the relationship between leaders across periods is maintained in the midst of the ever-evolving political dynamics. Behind the warm atmosphere of Lebaran, the public caught a strong signal that personal communication and closeness between elites remain an anchor in maintaining continuity of government.
