JAKARTA - Benjamin Netanyahu's power in the Israeli government is coming to an end, as the anti-Netanyahu coalition is getting stronger.
For Israelis, the certainty of a definitive government after four elections is important. But for Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the new government will have no impact on them, because the government's agenda is the same.
Naftali Bennett, the right-wing Israeli conglomerate who will become Israel's new leader of the anti-Netanyahu coalition, is a supporter of expanding Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
He also called the establishment of a Palestinian state a 'suicide' by Israel. Most recently, he blamed Palestine in the conflict between the two sides.
"The truth has to be told, the national struggle between Israel and Palestine is not over territory. The Palestinians don't recognize our presence here, and it looks like this will be for some time," he told Israel's Channel 12 television station.
Such a Bennet figure, according to Palestinians, will present the same Israeli government as the previous government. He said the appointment of the prime minister this time was no less extreme than Benjamin Netanyahu.
"He (Bennett) will make sure to reveal how extreme he is in government."
A similar sentiment was echoed by a government employee in Gaza, Ahmed Rezik. According to him, there will be no difference between one Israeli leader and another.
"They are good or bad for their nation. And when it comes to us, they are all evil, and they all refuse to give their rights and lands to the Palestinian people," he said.
Meanwhile, Fatah Revolutionary Guard member Dimitri Diliani said, not much will change and can be expected from the next Israeli government.
"It's not a struggle between pro and anti-peace groups. For us, replacing one racist government with another doesn't make much difference. We're happy to see Netanyahu replaced, but we don't welcome Bennett," he was quoted as saying by Sputniknews.
The same goes for Hamas, the Islamist group that controls the Gaza Strip. To them, whoever ruled Israel made no difference.
"Palestine has seen dozens of Israeli governments throughout history, right, left, center, as they call it. But they are all hostile when it comes to the rights of our Palestinian people and they all have hostile expansionist policies," said spokesman Hazem Qassem.
