JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asked the residents of the capital to turn off the lights on Saturday, June 5 at night. This is done to commemorate World Environment Day.

"Allow me in this World Environment Day, I invite all residents of Jakarta to turn off the lights on Saturday, June 5, 2021, for 1 hour from 20.30 to 21.30 local time," Anies said on Instagram dkijakarta, Thursday, June 3.

Anies asked his citizens to take part in actions to care for the environment by saving energy in the context of World Environment Day.

"This very simple symbolic action is one of our joint efforts to care more about the environment," said Anies.

He said support for environmental conservation by turning off the lights is very beneficial for the survival of future generations.
