Married Couple In Bandung Hid Methamphetamine In The Microwave Arrested

BANDUNG - The Bandung Police Narcotics Investigation Unit arrested a married couple with ST and AF's initials who hid methamphetamine in the microwave during a police search.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Ulung Sampurna Jaya said the arrest was a development after several other methamphetamine dealers were arrested. From the couple's hands, the police confiscated 871 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

"We have to dismantle this machine first before we find out. And indeed his wife also participated in hiding the item", said Ulung at the Bandung Police Station, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 3.

Ulung explained that previously the police had arrested several suspects suspected of being dealers with the initials MI, US, DH, and RN. Then the police also helped secure ST after the case was developed.

When the team from the police carried out developments at ST's house, according to him, the police managed to find methamphetamine that AF had hidden in the microwave.

According to Ulung, the couple along with four other suspects admitted that they had only received one package from the prison network in Jakarta.

However, he suspected that they had been circulating methamphetamine for the past year based on police investigations.

"It's been a long time, about a year they have been circulating methamphetamine", he said.

He said they were circulating the methamphetamine at the inter-provincial level. As for all the suspects currently being detained, the police confiscated 1,937.95 grams of methamphetamine.

As a result of the circulation, the police ensnared them with Article 114 paragraph 2 of the 2009 Law on narcotics which carries a death penalty, life imprisonment, or a minimum sentence of six years and a maximum of 20 years.
