JAKARTA - The West Java Governor's Office known as Gedung Sate is closed until June 9, 2021 as a result of more than 30 employees being tested positive for COVID-19. We have closed it. Now it was found that around 30 of my government staff were exposed," said West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil after attending the National Working Meeting of the Association of Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy Producers in Palembang, South Sumatra, reported by Antara, Thursday, June 3. He explained that the building was temporarily closed during the period of handling COVID-19 and cleaning the building. The governor said that the closure of the West Java government office could exceed June 9 because it was adjusted to the conditions of the spread of COVID-19. for the past few days. "It could be more than that. But indeed the employees who were exposed were all in the administrative field, but we make sure the government continues to run," he said.

He said the employees in the West Java Provincial Government who were exposed to COVID-19 were not positive because of the Lebaran homecoming, but because they had just finished official activities in Jakarta. "Not because of going home. But after going home, there was work in Jakarta, the results of the 'tracing', actually there were 5 people who were exposed after returning from Jakarta. But they spread it to the office and spread," he said. He hopes that the government office will be opened soon. This is believed to be because the recovery rate in West Java is very good, because the mortality rate is only one percent while 99 percent of those who are exposed have recovered. He has not confirmed whether the exposed employees have been vaccinated or not. However, he explained, by carrying out the first vaccination, it means an efficacy rate of 65 percent. “This means that there is still a chance to be exposed to COVID-19. Like my wife was exposed even though she was vaccinated. Therefore, it is very important to maintain the process," said Ridwan Kamil.
