If Karaoke Places In DKI Were To Operate, Visitors Must Undergo Antigen Test Before Singing

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Gumilar Ekalaya, said that the DKI Provincial Government will conduct a trial of opening karaoke places in the capital city.

Karaoke business activities have never been allowed to open during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the management of the karaoke business is submitting a karaoke operational protocol during the pandemic to the DKI Provincial Government.

However, said Gumilar, all visitors to karaoke places must undergo swab antigen tests before singing, if the karaoke place is reopened later.

"The operation, which obviously requires an antigen swab for all visitors. Because if you are required to sing wearing a mask, it's a bit complicated. Don't let us make rules that will definitely be violated", said Gumilar at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, June 2.

In addition, one karaoke room in one day can only be used once operationally. However, this rule has only been tested. If karaoke management cannot comply because many people want to karaoke, this will be reviewed again.

"This is our direction, we try it once a day. If the interest is big enough, then we can review it again", he said.

According to Gumilar, the DKI Provincial Government also stipulates that the maximum capacity of visitors in one room must be 25 percent of the normal capacity, in the early stages of testing the opening of karaoke.

"So later, only rooms with large capacities will be allowed. If one room is only 2-3 people, it can't be used automatically. So, we try to use large rooms first", said Gumilar.

To date, there have been 100 karaoke business places that have submitted submissions for karaoke operational protocols during the pandemic. However, all submitted studies were returned by the DKI Provincial Government. Now there are 50 places of business that have returned to submit their study improvements.

"We will try to review these 50 again. Later on, we will try the model with a trial system first. So, not all of us will immediately give permission, of course, we will try out some that are really ready in a process, SOP wise and indeed have a commitment to implement and be responsible", explained Gumilar.

It is known that DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is preparing to open a karaoke business in the capital city. This is stated in the Circular Letter of the DKI Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) Number 64/SE/2021 concerning Preparation for the Re-opening of Karaoke Businesses in DKI Jakarta Province.

Although the discourse of opening a karaoke place to be opened appears, the Head of the Tourism Industry Division of DKI Disparekraf Bambang Ismadi said that it is not that easy for karaoke management to open a business place. Every karaoke place must apply for a permit by explaining the mechanism for implementing health protocols.

"Karaoke places are being prepared to open. Those who want to open must submit strict health protocols first", said Bambang.

Thus, when the faucet for licensing the opening of a karaoke place is opened, all the business places are ready with the implementation of the protocol. "The nature of seeing the preparation and readiness of karaoke business managers", he said.
