17 KKB Members Return to the Republic of Indonesia, Firearms are Turned Over

JAYAPURA - The Swasembada Operations Command has received back one long-barreled firearm from a member of the KKB Kodap XV Ngalum Kupel area of Kiwirok, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, Papua Mountains.

The Pangkoops Satgas Swasembada Mayjen TNI Novi Rubadi Sugito, said the handover of the Engkel Loop type of weapons by members of the KKB Kodap XV was the result of an intensive approach.

The handover of the Engkel Loop type firearm was carried out in Kiwirok, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, February 17.

The weapons were handed over by A.T. and D.T. after an intensive approach and communication and guidance by personnel from the Koops Swasembada Task Force in the area.

"The approach that emphasizes dialogue, family, and commitment to maintaining community safety is the key to its success," said Major General TNI Novi Rubadi, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 18.

When contacted from Jayapura, Major General TNI Novi said that with the approach taken by the Swasembada Task Force personnel, there are currently 17 KKB members who have also declared themselves back to the Republic of Indonesia.

Personnel will continue to approach KKB members so that they can join the NKRI with their own awareness and surrender the guns they previously carried.

"Let's work together to build the region and also help maintain security," said the Pangkoops Swasembada Task Force Commander, Major General TNI Novi Rubadi Sugito.
