COVID-19 Update As Of May 29: New Cases Of 6,565, Healing Increases By 5,417

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 105,946 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6,565 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,809,926 people and active cases of 99,690 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Saturday, May 29.

Today's cases recovered increased by 5,417 cases, so that a total of 1,659,974 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 162 people and the total was 50,262 people.

The province with the most new cases was in Central Java with 1,050 cases and a total of 198,198 cases. Followed by West Java which has 927 new cases with a total of 311,994 cases. DKI Jakarta has 898 new cases and a total of 428,269 cases. Then, Riau has 898 new cases and a total of 58,871 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 998 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 893 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 660 recovered cases, and Riau with an additional 413 recovered cases.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were West Sulawesi and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 16,589,465.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 13.93 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 105,085 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently there are 16,203,829 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 10,554,796 of the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
