MEDAN - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti conveyed the government's plan to revitalize 897 educational units or schools in North Sumatra with a total budget of Rp. 852 billion.

The educational units that have been revitalized in North Sumatra consist of 34 PAUD, 400 elementary schools, 240 junior high schools, 119 high schools, 88 vocational schools, 11 Special Schools (SLB), and 5 Community Learning Centers (PKBM) or Learning Activity Centers (SKB).

Currently, 431 schools are in the construction phase of less than 95 percent. Meanwhile, those who have processed 95-99 percent are 117 schools, and those who have completed 100 percent are 349 schools.

For the education digitization program, as many as 17,073 digital interactive panels (PID) have been provided by the central government in North Sumatra. There are still eight more PID units in the process of delivery.
