Denial Of The Charges, Rizieq Shihab Claims His Condition Has Improved After 24 Hours Of Treatment At The UMMI Hospital

JAKARTA - Former FPI High Priest, Rizieq Shihab claims his condition has improved after undergoing treatment at the UMMI Bogor Hospital for 24 hours. In fact, previously his physical condition declined and showed symptoms of COVID-19.

Rizieq's statement was conveyed as the defendant during the trial of the UMMI Bogor Hospital swab test results at the East Jakarta District Court.

"At that time, 24 hours I was treated at the UMMI Hospital and experienced a very extraordinary change in condition, which was very tired (so) gone, from coughing (becoming) not coughing, which was a bit short of breath to not that. My lymph nodes increased. up to 16, "said Rizieq in the trial.

With this condition that is considered to have improved, Hanif Alatas, who is Rizieq Shihab's son-in-law, made a video about the statement stating that his condition was in good health.

The video also aims to ward off fake news or hoaxes that say Rizieq is critical due to COVID-19.

"I have a son-in-law to make a video that is sent to a relative, a friend who finally lost their struggle. So those who were worried about missing are no longer worried about the video," said Rizieq.

So, Rizieq emphasized that the video that the prosecutor considered was a lie was not true. Because, the initial goal was only to eliminate family unrest in the presence of fake news.

"In the end, the video was accused by investigators and the prosecutor was accused of lying, saying that I was fine," he said.

For information, in this case Rizieq Shihab was sentenced to 10 months in prison. Because, he was accused of spreading fake news or hoaxes that caused chaos. This false news is related to his health condition which was confirmed positive for COVID-19 while at UMMI Hospital in Bogor, West Java.

Rizieq Shihab was charged with Article 14 paragraph (1), paragraph (2), Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations and / or Article 14 paragraph (1), paragraph (2) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4 years 1984 concerning Communicable Disease Outbreaks and / or Article 216 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
