Aceh Police Send Health Workers Through Air To Disaster Areas

The Aceh Regional Police (Polda) sent health workers and humanitarian assistance by air by helicopter to the disaster area in Aceh Tamiang Regency.

Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Pol Marzuki Ali Basyah in Banda Aceh, Saturday, said the delivery of health workers and humanitarian assistance was a continuation of a series of quick responses in disaster management.

"The delivery of health workers and assistance is to ensure that the community's needs are still met even though land access at a number of points is still cut off due to the flood disaster," said Marzuki Ali Basyah.

The delivery was carried out using the AW169 Helicopter from Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport (SIM), Blang Bintang, Aceh Besar District. The assistance was distributed in the Islamic Center of Aceh Tamiang Regency and then coordinated with the refugees and residents affected by the flood.

"Meanwhile, the health workers sent are assigned to provide health services, both for personnel on duty and the general public who need medical treatment due to the impact of the flood," said the Kapolda.

The logistical assistance sent by air is 348 kilograms. This assistance consists of mineral water, communication tools, water machines, medicines, biscuits, computers, and others.

The Kapolda added that this periodic delivery of aid is clear evidence of the presence of the National Police in the community, especially in crisis situations that require a quick and directed response.

"We also ensure that the people of Aceh Tamiang Regency do not face this disaster alone. The National Police are present, working, and helping optimally in all lines. Starting from evacuation, distribution of aid, to health services," he said.

He also appealed to the public to remain calm, not panic, and always obey the directions of officers in the field. All elements of the government continue to work together to accelerate flood management and restore community conditions as quickly as possible.

This quick response from the Aceh Police is expected to help ease the burden on the people of Aceh Tamiang Regency and accelerate the recovery process from the flood disaster that hit the area.

"People, please remain patient and calm. We work day and night so that aid is distributed properly and health services remain available. God willing, all these efforts are made to ensure the safety and comfort of the community," said Marzuki Ali Basyah.
