JAKARTA - The Malaysian Police conducted an investigation to find the cause of the car accident at Lake Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK killed a doctoral student at the campus.
Jeli Police Chief, Inspector Kamarulzaman Harun, said the accident that occurred yesterday also injured a car passenger.
Kamarulzaman explained that his party received a report of the incident at 18.35 yesterday and then sent a team to the scene.
According to him, the car that the two victims were traveling in skidded and then jumped freely into the lake at the UMK Jeli Campus.
He added that the driver lost control when the car passed the left corner on the downhill campus road causing the vehicle to plunge into the lake on the right side at around 18.20.
"The passenger managed to get out of the car and save himself, while the driver, a 25-year-old doctoral student, was declared dead at the scene," he said in a statement, Wednesday, December 3, quoted from Bernama.

Kamarulzaman said the body had been taken to the Forensic Department of Jeli Hospital for an autopsy.
