Police Deploy 3 Planes, 5 Helicopters, And 9 Ships To Accelerate Aceh Disaster Assistance

The National Police deployed three aircraft, five helicopters, and nine Polair ships to accelerate the distribution of aid for disaster-affected areas in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The entire fleet has entered the operation route to ensure that logistics supplies arrive more quickly, especially to isolated areas.

Karopenmas Divhumas Polri Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said the acceleration of aid distribution was prioritized by air because land access at many points could not be passed.

"Currently, the National Police is deploying planes and helicopters to ensure that assistance arrives at the affected locations. Land access at many points is still cut off, so acceleration by air is the key so that people can immediately receive logistics," he told the media, Tuesday, November 2, 2025.

He said that flight operations had been going on in stages since the last three days, including the airdrop of basic commodities at a number of points in Tapanuli and other isolated areas.

The five helicopters deployed were respectively on duty in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, namely AW169/P-3303, Dauphin AS365 N3/P-3103, NBO-105/P-1112, Bell 429/P-3203, and Bell 412EP/P-3002.

On the sea route, nine Polair ships strengthen logistics supply through strategic ports such as Sabang, Sibolga, Belawan, and Panton Bagan Asahan. The ships deployed included KP Wisanggeni 8005, KP Antareja 7007, KP Anis Kembang4001, and KP Lory 3018, assisted by ship support from the Riau Regional Police and the Riau Police.

Meanwhile, the acceleration of long-distance logistics delivery, three aircraft were also operated, namely CN295/P-4501, Fokker 27 MK50/P-4401, and Boeing 737-800NG/P-7301.

Truno emphasized that the mobilization of three aircraft, five helicopters, and nine ships was carried out to keep the logistics supply running, reopen isolated areas, and accelerate and streamline emergency response operations.

"The National Police ensures that aid deliveries will continue until the critical needs of the community are met," he concluded.
