Riau Police Investigate Destruction Of 2 Forest Security Posts In Tesso Nilo National Park

JAKARTA - The police are investigating the vandalism of two security posts for the Forest Area Control Task Force in Tesso Nilo National Park (TNTN Task Force) in Kenayang Hamlet, Ukui District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau.

Direktur Direktorat Reserse Kriminal Umum Polda Riau mengatakan pihaknya menerima laporan resmi pengerusahan dilaporkan anggota Satgas TNTN pada 25 November 2025 dengan nomor LP/B/488/XI/2025/Polda Riau. Laporan tersebut merupakan bentuk pengerusakan terhadap fasilitas negara dan pihaknya telah melanjutkan laporan itu.

"All parties suspected of being involved are being investigated. The process is in accordance with the legal corridor," he said in Pekanbaru, Thursday, as reported by Antara.

According to reports received, the incident began when a group of mobs allegedly led by JS and his group visited the Kenayang Command Post on Friday, November 21. Arriving at the location of the crowd asked the task force officers to leave the post within an hour but were refused because they were carrying out official duties.

The crowd, which was dissatisfied with the officer's response, eventually sparked tensions that eventually led to acts of destruction. According to the task force report, a number of facilities that were destroyed included five billboards, portals, acrylic signs arising, thousands of restoration plant seeds, army platoon tents, blue tents, and operational documents.

"The damage occurred in two locations. A number of items were also transported by truck with a total material loss estimated at Rp190 million," explained Asep.

Asep emphasized that acts of violence against state facilities, especially in conservation areas, are serious violations. "Being vigilant cannot be justified. Anyone involved will be held accountable," he stressed.

In handling this case, investigators applied Article 170 of the Criminal Code and Article 406 of the Criminal Code related to acts of joint violence and destruction.

In handling the case, several witnesses have been examined. In addition, investigators will also trace video recordings and digital content circulating on social media.
