Cipeucang TPA Case In Serpong Rises Investigation, KLH Focuses On Identification-Administrative Actions

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Environment (KLH) has raised the status of investigations on the handling of the Cipeucang Final Disposal Site (TPA) case in Serpong, which has a mountain of garbage that causes environmental pollution.

"Yes, now it has been improved. Actually, the Cipeucang TPA has been included in our investigation," said Minister of Environment and Forestry Hanif Faisol Nurofiq in a statement, Wednesday, confiscated by Antara.

Currently, he said, the investigation process in the Cipeucang TPA case in Serpong, South Tangerang, Banten has two things, namely, identification and the administrative witness process.

"So now we are considering whether we will end the administrative witness, then proceed in terms of law," he said.

He revealed that the results of the investigation process's decision will soon be considered by the Gakum investigator team of the Ministry of Environment.

"Anyway, soon we will not continue, yes. In fact, the Mayor of South Tangerang has also been summoned and examined, it has already been investigated," he said.

Hanif said, apart from the Cipecang TPA, there was a Bekasi TPA in the investigation process by his ministry.

"However, we are in line with administrative sanctions, so we prioritize administrative sanctions," he said.

Previously, residents of RT/RW, 06/04 Serpong, South Tangerang City were affected by the flood of natural disasters due to landslides at the local TPA.

The thick black water smells from the overflow of river flow due to mountains of garbage at the Cipeucang TPA landslide. This similar incident has occurred three times in the last week.
