The Mayor Of East Jakarta Denies That There Are ASN Persons Who Commit Fraud In The Name Of Dukcapil

The news of an elderly man (elderly) becoming a victim of fraud on behalf of the East Jakarta Population and Civil Defected Sub-Department (Dukcapil) officer has attracted the attention of the East Jakarta City Government (Jaktim). This is because the perpetrator claims to be a State Civil Apparatus (ASN).

East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin confirmed that the perpetrators were not from ASN circles in East Jakarta. Munjirin said that the person who deceived the elderly and claimed to be an East Jakarta Dukcapil officer was not an ASN.

"East Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-dept. never called residents to provide services via telephone or video call," said East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin, ANTARA, Friday, November 21.

The statement was in response to the news that an elderly man with the initials PS was a victim of fraud after being called by a man claiming to be an officer of the East Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-dept. some time ago.

Hearing the news, Munjirin immediately checked the names of the two people who claimed to be ASN from the DKI Disdukcapil.

Based on his search, it was found that there were no officers from the East Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-dept. on behalf of Daniel Syahputra and Benny Heryanto, as told by the victim.

Munjirin explained that the East Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-dept. had also carried out socialization in anticipation of fraud on social media.

Education through social media is expected to increase public insight, that East Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-dept. officers never provide services via telephone.

"We urge residents not to easily believe people claiming to be Dukcapil officers by telephone," said Munjirin.

In addition, he also gave tips to avoid fraud on behalf of DKI Dukcapil officers and other service tribes.

First, when called by someone who claims to be a Dukcapil officer, don't panic and don't follow his instructions occasionally.

"Never want to be told (to broadcast/distribute the screen) share screen over the phone," said Munjirin.

Then, he emphasized that he should never provide personal data or OTP (On Time Password) codes to fraudsters.

He also suggested that the victim immediately cut off the fraudster's phone call for the safety of personal and other data.

"Report the police if someone commits fraud. Finally, you can check the East Jakarta Dukcapil social media," said Munjirin.

Previously, an elderly man with the initials PS (68) became a victim of fraud after being called by a man who claimed to be an officer of the East Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-dept. some time ago.

PS was called by a man named Daniel Syahputra who wore a brown uniform and black cap.

Not only that, PS was also called through the WhatsApp application by another man who wore a batik shirt from the Indonesian Civil Service Corps (Korpri) named Benny Heryanto.

Initially, the victim took care of moving domicile from Makasar District, East Jakarta, to Tangerang City.

After the matter was finished, suddenly someone contacted the victim by claiming to be an East Jakarta Dukcapil officer.

Without suspicion, the victim followed directions from the perpetrator to send personal data, including the identity (ID) of the banking sector.

The perpetrator had told the victim if there was incomplete personal data and under the guise of helping the process online.

After that, the victim only realized that there was an email (electronic letter) that came in regarding the transfer of Rp231,000 to an account in the name of Edi Jhon.
