JAKARTA - Public policy observer Trubus Rahardiansyah responded to President Prabowo Subianto's statement that he would use state money from returning from corruptors to pay off the debt of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train (KCJB). According to him, the President's statement was only to calm the public regarding the polemic of resolving her debt.

"Of course what the President said is a political way as head of state to calm the public, in terms of how then the public can obtain complete information regarding the direction in which the country wants to settle the debt issue," Trubus told VOI when met at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, November 14.

"Well, then one of the schemes offered by the President is through the flow of money confiscated by corruption, in my opinion a policy innovation but of course it must be with clear regulations because until today the Asset Confiscation Law has not been (separated) right," he continued.

The President's statement, according to Trubus, also emphasized to the public that the confiscated money amounting to Rp13 trillion, which was displayed by the AGO some time ago, would be used for the benefit of the people.

"Now the problem is that at this time to pay bagissh, the public then considers that it is another function because this was originally a business-to-business issue, not the government, government, so if it is a business, it should be resolved in a business manner," Trubus explained.

"Because there are 60 percent of Indonesia, 40 percent of China, the percentage of KCIC in this case is all responsible parties. So I see what happens then it is more about how the government is looking for sources for the debt, but actually Danantara itself can," he continued.

Moreover, added Trubus, the Ministry of Finance has mentioned that the dividends that come in every year are around Rp90-100 trillion. So if Danantara pays Rp2 trillion, it is a small thing.

"Secondly, I consider that what the President has conveyed is more to encourage law enforcement officials to work hard to immediately complete their duties in order for the benefit of the community," said Trubus.

Moreover, the KPK is currently also investigating the alleged markup in thection project. Even the KPK said that there were individuals who sold state land to the state.

"That's something that's rolling. The government must also explain, of course, what if we build it up to Banyuwangi, while what Jakarta-Bandung has not yet been completed, this is in the public spotlight," he said.

Trubus also highlighted the reasons for Prabowo's responsibility regarding his debt, because he wanted to clear the name of the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). "This is also widely discussed by the public, maybe there is shrimp behind the stone," said Trubus.

"As a head of state, it's legal, it's just like calming it down. But of course what is called the public, it's called a thought, we are democratic but what is clear is that the demands to the government and appeals to prove everything that the settlement of the problem is really a shared responsibility," he said.

Trubus also considered that it would be a violation of the law if corruption confiscation money was transferred to pay off debt. So there needs to be clear rules regarding the confiscation of state money, through the Asset Confiscation Bill.

"Our law is, sometimes overlapping, not synchronized either, because of that so that it doesn't become a problem in the future, in my opinion, this atmosphere must then be followed up by his subordinates, his assistants to formulate appropriately," said Trubus.

"(Submit the asset confiscation law) For example, or also need more regulations, let alone more, because I agree that corruption money is taken (state), but how then can we quickly or corruption be in the form of liquid and can be used for the benefit of the company, it's a long process," he concluded.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized to all parties not to worry about the debt problem for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project, which has recently been widely discussed by the public. He ensured that he would be fully responsible for the project.

The President also said that he would use state money as a result of returning from corruptors to pay off God's debt.

"The money is there. The money that was corrupted (after the state was taken) I saved. I didn't give it a chance. So, my brother asked me all to help. Don't give opportunities for corruptors to run rampant. There will be a lot of money for us. For all of the people, "said Prabowo.
