The Alleged Perpetrator Of The Burst Of SMAN 72 Jakarta Inspired By Neo Nazi Circular Figures

JAKARTA - The results of an investigation conducted by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police together with a joint team revealed that the perpetrators of the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta were inspired by a number of figures of perpetrators of violence and mass shootings that had occurred in various countries. One of them is Vladislav Roslyakov, the perpetrator of the shooting in Russia in 2018 which was lined up by Neo-Nazi.

The spokesman for the National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88, AKBP Mayndra Eka Wardhana, revealed that the perpetrators absorbed many ideas and symbols from various extreme events in the world.

"There are about six figures who inspire the perpetrators," he told the media at Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

The following are the names of figures who are said to inspire the perpetrators:

* Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the 1999 Leading High School Shooting perpetrators in Colorado, USA, who are Neo-Nazi. * Dylann Roof, 2015 best-selling actor in South Carolina, USA, flows white supremacy. * Alexander Bissonnette, a 2017 Quebec Mosque Attack actor in Canada, is also a white supremacy. * Vladislav Roslyakov, the shooter in Russia in 2018 who is Neo-Nazi. * The 2019 Christchurch Mosque Attack perpetrator in New Zealand, known as techno-nationalist and also Neo-Nazi.

Myandra emphasized that although the perpetrators were inspired by various extreme ideologies, none of them really followed consistently.

"This shows that the perpetrators only use the symbols as inspiration. There is no direct affiliation with certain groups or ideologies," he said.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the results of the investigation did not find an element of terrorism in the case.

"There was no terrorist activity carried out by the alleged perpetrator. So it is purely a common crime," he added.

Myandra also highlighted the importance of vigilance against exposure to violent content in cyberspace.

This is a concern for all of us, especially parents and society, to pay more attention to children's activities on social media. Because in today's digital space, a community that glorifies violence can trigger extreme action in the real world," he concluded.
