Again, One KKB Member Led By Lekagak Telenggen Killed Contact Shoot In Papua Ilaga

JAYAPURA - A member of an armed criminal group (KKB) led by Lekagak Telenggen named Welenggen Tabuni was killed during a gunfight between the armed group and the combined TNI-Polri forces in Kampung Maki, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua.

Kasatgas Public Relations Ops Nemangkawi Kombes M Iqbal Alqudusy said the firing contact between the joint TNI-Polri officers and KKB occurred at about 12:30 WIT.

"One KKB person who died on behalf of Welenggen Tabuni," said Kombes Iqbal quoted antara, Friday, May 21.

After firing contact with kkb, TNI-Polri officers managed to control Ilaga and surrounding areas. As for the TNI-Polri, there were no casualties in the incident.

It is said that after firing contact with the authorities, one member of KKB Lekagak Telenggen fled towards Mura and still continues to be pursued by the authorities.

Some evidence secured at the scene are one KKB body, one kejora star flag, four rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, a machete, one bow, one pluit necklace, an ID card in the name of Welengen Tabuni and several documents.

Meanwhile, community activities in Ilaga City ranging from Aminggaru Airport to Ilaga traditional market continue to run normally, even more crowded.

"After the crackdown by Task Force Ops Nemangkawidi Puncak District, citizen activities are increasingly crowded with surveillance and security by the TNI-Polri. Security in the city is always implemented by TNI and Police personnel to maintain a conducive security situation in Puncak Regency," said Kombes Iqbal.
