JAKARTA - A husband and wife couple died when their motorbike hit a truck parked on Jalan Raya Pan Borneo, near Selangau, Malaysia, last night.

The accident occurred at around 19:45 a.m. at Kilometer 97 near Spiring when the couple's motorcycle got out of control.

Mukah Police Chief, DSP Muhammad Rizal Alias, identified the victims as Kelly Baling and Belula Amin, both 28 years old.

"Initial investigations revealed that the couple were on their way from Bintulu to Selangau when their motorcycle lost control and collided with a stopped truck," he said on Monday, November 10, quoted by Bernama.

The two victims suffered severe head injuries and were declared dead at the scene by medics from the Selangau Health Clinic.

The body was taken to the Mukah Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The police are investigating this case based on Article 41 (1) of the 1987 Road Traffic and Transportation Law.

Rizal said that the police are currently tracking down truck owners and drivers to assist in the investigation.
