"An object suspected to be a mortar round has been found in the Cinere area," Reonald said in a written statement on Sunday, November 2nd.

He explained that while the two security guards were digging for a house foundation near the complex's lake, they found a rusty but intact projectile-like object.

"They then reported the discovery to First Inspector Subendi, a member of the Cinere Sector Police Community Development Unit. The report was forwarded to the Cinere Sector Police Community Development Unit (SPKT) and the Depok Metro Police Department's Security Officer (Pamapta) for follow-up," he said.

Reonald said that officers who arrived at the scene immediately secured the area and conducted an initial inspection. Preliminary identification indicates the object is suspected to be an 81-millimeter mortar.

The Brimob's Bomb Disposal Team from the Jakarta Metro Police then evacuated and secured the object. Reonald confirmed that the situation at the location is now safe and conducive.

"The Jihandak Unit of the Jakarta Metro Police Mobile Brigade led by First Inspector Yuda has secured the object to prevent any untoward incidents," he concluded.
