Head Of SVR Says European NATO Allies Are Preparing To Fight With Russia

JAKARTA - Moscow is observing European NATO (Atlantic Defense Pact) allies preparing to go to war with Russia, said Russian Foreign Intelligence Agency (SVR) Director Sergey Naryshkin.

This was conveyed by Naryshkin in a meeting of the Heads of the CIS Member State Security and Intelligence Agency, according to a statement on the SVR website.

"We can clearly see that European NATO allies are preparing to go to war with our country. The task has been set to ensure that all necessary resources are allocated to NATO response forces appointed for this purpose in a short period of time," he said.

"They have launched an acceleration of expansion of defense production across Europe. Mobilization and systematic indoctrination measures of the population with propaganda about Russian aggression that is said to be inevitable has become routine," added Naryshkin.

According to the Head of SVR, Russia is also aware of the "problem of finding an adequate number of mobilized troops with the physical and psychological readiness needed remains unresolved."

"Another issue faced by European leaders is the widespread social apathy and dissatisfaction with the ruling elite, especially among youth. Brussels, Paris, and Berlin are also not sure whether Washington will fulfill its obligations under Article 5 of the Washington Agreement in the event of war with Russia," he explained.

"Without this, as acknowledged even by the European External Action Service, every calculation that aims to achieve strategic superiority over our country is just an illusion," Naryshkin knotted.
