Unexpectedly Will Hang Himself, Even Though When Monitored The Victim Was Seen Playing On A Cellphone

JAKARTA - A 28-year-old youth who was found hanging himself in his room in the Kampung Sawah area, Semper Timur, Cilincing, is known to have the initials SI.

The victim was registered as a resident of Jalan Budi Mulia, Pademangan District, North Jakarta. The discovery of the victim began with the suspicion of a witness with the initials UN who was the victim's grandfather.

Initially on Monday at around 04.00 WIB, the victim's grandfather with the initials UN came to the victim's room to wake him up, but the victim did not respond.

UN then went to YS (the victim's mother)'s house to inform her that the victim had no response when she woke up.

Then at 07.00 WIB, the victim's mother and the third witness AP, who was the victim's sister, returned to the victim SI's house to check the condition of the victim.

Witness AP tried to peek from witness UN's room and saw the victim SI standing beside the cupboard playing on a cell phone.

"Witness initials AP tried to peek into witness UN's room and saw the victim standing beside the cupboard playing on his cellphone (not seeing a hanging rope)," said Cilincing Police Chief, AKP Bobi Subasri to reporters, Monday, October 20, 2025.

After the AP witnesses did not see anything suspicious, AP and YS returned to their respective homes in Rawa Malang Village, Cilincing.

Furthermore, at 08.45 WIB the fourth witness with the initials MI, who was the victim's father, saw his wife crying at his house because her son did not respond when his room was knocked.

Then this MI witness and his wife returned to the victim's house and peeked from UN's room. However, they would be surprised when they saw that the victim's neck was wrapped in a rope.

"They saw a green rope with a length of 2 meters wrapped around the victim's neck," he said.

Subsequently, the discovery was reported to the head of the RT 010/011 chairman, Semper Timur Village. Then forwarded to the Cilincing Police.

Meanwhile, the results of the inspection by Inafis Members of the North Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit found no signs of abuse or violence on the victim's body.

"On the victim's neck there were abrasions on the rope. The victim died allegedly because he hanged himself," he said.

Currently, the victim's body is being taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for further processing.
