TEMANGGUNG - The Temanggung Resort Police, Central Java, revealed the abuse of subsidized LPG.

The perpetrators transferred the contents of 3 kilograms of subsidized LPG into 12 kilograms and sold them to the public at a non-subsidized price.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Temanggung Police, Setyo Hermawan, said the perpetrator of this case had the initials SRJ (40) and was registered as a resident of Temanggung I Village, Temanggung District, Temanggung Regency.

Disclosure of cases originated from public information that someone had mixed LPG. This information was received by officers and began a series of investigations.

The officer then went to the location where the perpetrator was operating. It turned out that it was true, SRJ was in the middle of mixing the 12th 3 kilogram LPG cylinder.

The SRJ suspect committed adulteration by moving four three-kilogram LPG into a 12-kilogram tube.

"The suspect moved the LPG by installing a regulator on the three kilogram tube and the empty 12 kilogram tube, between the two regulators were connected by a hose," he said.

He explained that the three-kilogram LPG cylinder was placed on top of the tile in an upside down position with the intention of getting the hot sun so that there was pressure and the LPG flowed into the 12 kilogram gas cylinder at the bottom.

After the three-kilogram LPG cylinder ran out, the suspect replaced it with a new tube or one that was still filled until the 12-kilogram tube could no longer be filled.

"After the 12 kilogram tube is fully filled, the tube is ready to be sold to the customer," he said.

In this case the police confiscated evidence, including two regulators, a 1.5 meter long hose, 12 empty gas cylinders of three kilograms, three empty gas cylinders of 12 kilograms in color, 16 gas cylinders of three kilograms filled, 23 pieces of orange gas cylinder seal.

The suspect charged under Article 40 number (9) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, in conjunction with Article 55 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas and or Article 62 paragraph (1) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 8 1999, concerning Consumer Protection.

The SRJ suspect admitted that he learned to move LPG from one tube to another from social media. "The income from the business is uncertain, because it is based on orders," he said.
