Since The Police Line Was Installed, The City Government Of Screening Access To Bandung Zoo

JAKARTA - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) emphasized that not just anyone can enter the Bandung Zoo area, aka Bandung Zoo, since the installation of police lines in the area on August 6, 2025, was due to the legal process that is currently being litigated.

"In addition to law enforcement officers, elements of the Ministry of Transportation, BBKSDA West Java, and the Bandung City Government, no other party is allowed to move in the zoo area, except for animal maintenance," said Head of Regional Property Inventory Division of the Regional Finance and Assets Agency (BKAD) of Bandung City Awal Haryanto in Bandung, Monday, confiscated by Antara.

Awal emphasized that the screening policy or access restriction was part of law enforcement measures in the Bandung Zoo area which is currently in the process of being investigated.

According to him, the Bandung City Government together with the police will also tighten security to sterilize the area from parties who are not interested.

"To other parties, we ask to refrain from making clear decisions first," he said.

Previously, the Mayor of Bandung Muhammad Farhan confirmed that he would not reopen Bandung Zoo as long as internal conflicts within the Tamansari Wildlife Foundation (YMT) as the manager were still ongoing.

Farhan said the management of these conservation institutions must comply with legal regulations by ensuring that those with clear legal standings.

"In the internal of this foundation, it is still in conflict. When mediated by the Polrestabes and BKAD, it turns out that they don't want peace, so that's it," said Farhan.

He emphasized that it is impossible for his party to entrust animal management to foundations that are often hit by conflicts.

However, he opened up opportunities for Bandung Zoo to operate again if the foundation resolves internal problems.

If the conflict is resolved, maybe it can be opened again. As long as the conflict is not over, it will not be opened," said Farhan.
