YOGYAKARTA Civil Servants (PNS) need to be happy. Because President Prabowo plans to raise the salary of the state civil apparatus (ASN). The increase in civil servant wages is part of the renewal of the Government Work Plan (RKP) in 2025. However, the increase in civil servant wages will be prioritized in several categories. President Prabowo's decision regarding the salary of civil servants to increase is stated in Presidential Regulation Number 79 of 2025 concerning the Update of the Government's Work Plan for 2025. The Presidential Decree is signed and takes effect as of June 30, 2025.

In the Presidential Regulation, there are several categories of civil servants who will get an increase in ASN salaries. The following is the category.

"Increasing the salaries of ASN, especially for teachers, lecturers, health workers, extension workers, the TNI/Polri, and state officials," said the information written in Presidential Decree 79/2025, quoted Monday, September 22.

Although the discourse on increasing civil servants' salaries has been widely discussed, unfortunately there has been no more detailed explanation regarding this matter. In fact, the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadives has not been able to provide an answer regarding the discourse.

"I can't answer yet. I'll study it first," he concluded.

Minister of Finance Purbaya also joked that if the discourse was realized, his salary as finance minister would also increase.

"It means that I will increase my salary if that's the case. It's okay," joked the Minister of Finance Purbaya.

Civil servants' salaries are quite rare to increase. The increase was recorded in 2019 and 2024. In 2019, in the Joko Widodo era, an increase was given by 5 percent, then in 2024 in the same era, an increase was given by 8 percent.
