Called By Prabowo To The Palace, Social Minister Calls 1.9 Million Lists Of Social Assistance Recipients Crossed Out

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto summoned the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul to report the entire process of distributing social assistance (bansos) on target and only for those who are entitled.

Gus Ipul said the Ministry of Social Affairs had crossed out 1.9 million lists of inappropriate social assistance recipients based on the results of the latest national data updating.

"More than 1.9 million have been declared unfit to receive social assistance again and we will transfer it to those who are more entitled," he said when he arrived at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Friday afternoon, which was confiscated by Antara.

He stated that the government continues to tighten the distribution of social assistance so that it is truly accepted by eligible citizens, in line with Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 4 of 2025.

Gus Ipul said, the Presidential Instruction assigned the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to consolidate data on social assistance recipients nationally so that it became a single guideline for ministries, institutions, and local governments.

Through Presidential Instruction No. 4 we want to make sure social assistance is right on target. Is the data perfect? Not yet. Because every day there are residents who die, born, married, or move domicile and updating data must be carried out continuously," he said.

According to him, the update process can be carried out every day by local governments and program assistants, while BPS will release an official update every three months.

Data that has been verified and validated is then ranked by BPS to determine the priority of beneficiaries.

Gus Ipul said, the results of the latest update in March April 2025 showed that nearly 1.9 million beneficiary families (KPM) were no longer entitled to social assistance.

The names were crossed out after a direct visit to the recipient's house by a companion to the Family Hope Program (PKH), BPS officers, and district/city Social Service.

"Data that do not meet the criteria we transfer to those who are more entitled," he said.

In addition to regular social assistance, updating also has an impact on BPJS Health contribution assistance programs. More than 9 million participants are transferred to new recipients who are included in the priority category based on welfare deposits 1 to 4.
