Task Force Receives 7,150 Ha Land Controlled By TN Tesso Nilo Riau Community

JAKARTA - The Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) has controlled an area of 7,150 hectares of land occupied by the community in the Tesso Nilo National Park area, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. After that, the land will be restored or restored.

The commander of the Garuda PKH Task Force, Mayjend Dody Triwinarto, said the land came from oil palm plantations from community groups, farmer groups and individuals who voluntarily handed over to the state through the PKH Task Force.

"We have carried out a reforestation so far of more than 7,150 ha who have handed over their land in TNTN voluntarily for deforestation or restoration, but it is still a public 8 and symbolic," he said in Pekanbaru, Friday.

He conveyed that the concession area in TNTN is around 81 thousand ha and some 61 thousand ha have been worked on by the community. That way, the primary forest that is left behind now is no more than 20 thousand ha.

In the TNTN area, he continued, there are a maximum of 7 thousand families with all their classifications. Some have workers, farmers with an area of 2-5 ha to have cukong persons with an area of 20-100 ha.

"Now the data collection is still continuing, the initial data that has been verified is approximately 5,700 families and a maximum of 7 thousand families with a concession of 80,980 thousand ha. We are looking for replacement land by looking for the best solution," he said.

According to him, there are also around TNTN industrial plantation forests managed by forestry companies that should have a function for hard forests, but are used for palm oil. This is trying to be used as a substitute for community land in the TNTN area.

"This is for the community, especially farmers who really have two ha and a maximum of five ha, how they can still live, the state is here to solve the problem," he said.
