COVID-19 Update As Of May 14: 2,633 New Cases From Examination Of 18,540 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) released additional positive cases of the latest COVID-19 as of today. A total of 18,540 specimens were examined with the result that there were 2,633 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1,734,285 people and active cases of 93,576 cases," as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Friday, May 14.

Cases recovered today increased by 3,807 cases, bringing the total to 1,592,886 people cured. Then, the number of positive confirmation cases that died increased by 107 people and a total of 47,823 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 632 cases and a total of 418,820 cases. Followed by West Java which has 610 new cases with a total of 295,789 cases. Central Java has 162 new cases and a total of 189,356 cases. Then, East Java has 141 new cases and a total of 150,901 cases.

The province with the most cured cases today belongs to West Java with an increase of 685 cases recovered. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 547 cases recovered, Riau with an increase of 503 cases recovered, and Central Java with an increase of 448 cases cured.

Six provinces reported no new cases today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were West Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Sumatra, North Maluku, and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 15,439,974.

"The positive result per number of specimens examined or positivity rate this week was 16.99 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspek cases, it is recorded at 86,842 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Currently, 13,699,393 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 8,921,431 people received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total vaccination target of phase 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
