The Minister Of Social Affairs Left Rp15 Million Compensation To Heirs 16 Victims Of Bali Flood Death

DENPASAR - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf handed over compensation to the families of 16 people who died due to large floods on the island of Bali.

The compensation was received by representatives of families or heirs and representatives of the Social Service.

Compensation for 16 victims who died was given at the Refugee Post for flood-affected residents at Balai Banjar Dakdakan, in East Denpasar District, Denpasar City, Friday, September 12.

The Minister of Social Affairs said that 18 people died from floods in Bali and 2 people were injured. Compensation for the families of the 2 victims will follow.

"Compensation who died was Rp. 15 million, for those who were injured Rp. 5 million. After that we also carry out an assessment of the needs, what else is needed, we will overcome this together," he said.

"There are all 18 (victims who died). But those who have been assessed per day there are already 16 (people who died). So God willing, the second (victim) will follow. We will definitely hand it over in due course. Then there are two injured, we will also provide support," he added.

According to the Minister of Social Affairs, the total assistance that has been distributed to the Bali Provincial Government is IDR 2 billion, including compensation.

"So we submitted more than IDR 2 billion to (the Bali Provincial Government), which includes compensation for inheritance transfer for those.

"He died and also support for the injured, there were two people. The rest is in the form of logistics, not in the form of Rp 2 billion. In the form of mattresses, in the form of food, in the form of clothes, in the form of medicines," he said.
